Overview
GHRP-2 (also called pralmorelin) sits in an unusual spot among research peptides: it actually has a fair amount of human data behind it. That is because it was never really meant to be a physique drug. It was developed as a clinical diagnostic tool, and it is approved in Japan as a single-injection test for growth hormone deficiency [2][13].
What the human evidence consistently shows is that GHRP-2 does one thing very well: it triggers a sharp, dose-dependent release of growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary [1][2][3][10]. It also reliably increases appetite, mimicking the natural hunger hormone ghrelin [1]. What the evidence does not show is that it reshapes your body, builds muscle, strips fat, or extends healthspan. Those are the uses driving most community interest, and they rest on extrapolation from acute GH pulses and animal work rather than on controlled human outcome trials [12].
So this is a compound where the mechanism is well understood, the acute effects are real and reproducible, and the long-term "what does it actually do for me" question is largely unanswered. Worth keeping that gap front of mind.
