Overview

Thymalin is one of the oldest peptide bioregulators still in circulation. It is a polypeptide complex extracted from calf (bovine) thymus, developed in 1970s–80s Leningrad by Vladimir Khavinson and Vyacheslav Morozov, and registered as an immunomodulatory medicine in the USSR back in 1982. In longevity and biohacking circles it is marketed as a thymus-restoring, "immune rejuvenation" peptide — often stacked alongside Epitalon and other Khavinson peptides.

Here is the honest framing up front: nearly the entire evidence base traces back to a single Russian research lineage centred on the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. That is a substantial limitation. Most human reports are small, non-randomised or open-label, published in Russian or low-impact journals, and have not been independently replicated by Western groups. The mechanistic story is biologically plausible, and some of the modern COVID-19 data is genuinely interesting — but none of it rises to the level of rigorous, independent proof. Treat what follows as emerging, not established.
